MEDIABOX supports a wide range of video and audio formats by selecting the appropriate backend for playing videos and music. mplayer is a highly optimized open source media player engine, and the osso-media-server is the built-in media player engine of the Nokia internet tablets.
The Nokia N800 has a built-in FM tuner chip. MEDIABOX can use it for playing FM radio while the headphones act as an antenna. Radio can be played through the headphones or the loudspeakers (while the headphones are plugged in).

Kinetic scrolling, sometimes also called inertia or organic scrolling, is a more natural approach to scrolling through long lists. MEDIABOX implements physically correct smooth scrolling behaviour.

If you don't like the default look of MEDIABOX, you can simply change it by applying another theme.
Songs can be arranged in a playlist so that you have full control about the order in which your songs are played. The playlist editor is finger-friendly and lets you sort the items by dragging them with your thumb.
